Describing Hitler as "artist/politician" is so hilariously demeaning.

Speer's remarks on whether Hitler noticed him or "paid special attention" to him, and then the happiness when the aloofness abated, is very reminiscent of a teenage girl.

Even Hitler thought the Nazi administration was conducted "in an indescribably stupid manner".

Only in government is 37 considered part of the youth.

Admittedly, Speer is not wrong in saying that Hitler's buildings were meant to be a lasting expression of the Nazi movement. Sites such as Kongresshalle still showcase Nazi ideals to visitors all these years later.

I think it's very difficult to understand the power Hitler's speeches had via print because you miss out on the rhetoric and dramatism.

I love the pettiness of historians.
