"Snowman, Snowman" I didn't really care for the conceit--a conversation between a snowman and the Eternal Snowflake--but once Frame gets going, it's her usual impressionistic head-on plunge into what it means to be human. Stunning at times, a bit silly occasionally, and very, very free form--which is both great and a bit off-putting in spots. A flawed work of genius.

This is the third book I've read by the amazing New Zealand writer, Janet Frame. She was such a brilliant writer that i find myself frequently lost in her brilliant observations of life and the poetic grace of her wisdom.
