In this book, I have not found that so far. My fellow Goodreader Redman told me Murakami is actually quite "tamed" in this one, so I do have my hopes. The book flap also says this book has some Stephen King influences, so I gotta verify that!

"Why do you still read Murakami, when you criticise him so much?" - my colleague told me. Yeah, I kept asking myself that question. I've read 5 of his books, and so far only liked 1. The rest are bad-to-OK. There is something to his stories that are both unique/mysterious and formulaic/predictable. In most of his books that I didn't enjoy, his inclusion of sex depictions were very distracting and jarring....
