Status Updates From Treasury of the True Dharma...

Challenging myself with a beefier Buddhist work (in number of pages and level of complexity). I've wanted to read this literally for decades, but I've always been a bit intimidated by its size - and it's usually presented in three jaw-cracking volumes. Time to take the leap, in one fell swoop. And I'm looking forward to the journey.

I'm not sure if it's actually helpful to read something without understanding the specifics. I tend to go through books without much dissection.

This book is so hard to read, it’s basically incomprehensible. I’m just hoping some of it seeps in and opens my mind.

“Why are you polishing the tile?”
“I am trying to make a mirror.”
“How can you polish a tile and make a mirror?”
“How can you do zazen and become a buddha?”

This guy honestly makes no sense. Wtf do you mean mountains always walk? Also just skipped two chapters about robes. Maybe I’ll learn someday🤷‍♂️.
