this book is so good i wish i had more time to read it

These fight scenes…she can’t complain that the monsters are wiping the floor with her when she had one mediocre training scene and her own “guardian” (though he isn’t doing a very good job right now!) said she’s lazy and spends too much time partying and not training. I tend to agree with him - and that’s not good!!

Finally some danger, some tension, some stakes!

It’s weird that not much has happened so far - it’s 54% and she hasn’t really remembered much yet, and all that’s happened is this one monster has been attacking her. Not much explanation of who the big bad is, so it’s quite hard to get invested in the stakes. And Will doesn’t have much personality yet - but I’m glad people are wary of a 21 year old dating a 17-year old, even if they’re both 600+.

I swear I already updated this to 25%!

I’m really liking the writing and world-building here. It’s surprisingly not-cringe!

This is surprisingly good so far and hasn’t fallen into any of the 2000’s YA paranormal romance traps yet!
