Ripley ficou pensando nas mil possibilidades do que fazer ou falar agora que Marge falou com o pai de Dick, e ele estava indo ao encontro deles junto com o detetive, que fez perguntas pertinentes, mas ao mesmo tempo que parecia não chegar a nenhuma conclusão, parecia saber de tudo, Marge parecia já ter concluído que foi suicídio, e o pai de Dick estava impassível sem acreditar em desaparecimento ou suicídio.

Part of why I wanted to reread the book after watching Ripley was I couldn't remember how premeditated Dickie's murder was. The mini series makes it appear to be done in a fit of passion. In the novel, it's definitely premeditated, but I haven't gotten to if the exact circumstances were arranged on purpose, or if it was a crime of opportunity.
