Chapter Two—Down the Cave of Mind: Hypnosis
Transcripts of Strieber’s two hypnosis sessions about the October and December 1985 visitations. Memory researchers are highly skeptical of memories recalled under hypnosis—they’re frequently false memories. Interestingly, Strieber already had some notion of this and states there were no suggestions given to him when he was under.

Chapter One—The Invisible Forest: First Memories
Streiber relates his abduction story complete with standard tropes of the experience including an anal probe and a supposed screen memory of an owl. Screen memories come from Freud but are considered a dubious explanation by memory researchers. Streiber refers to the aliens as visitors.
