While the rest of the book rings very true, upon reaching the chapter about Victorian Halloween, there's definitely a one-sided approach. My knowledge considering, I had to laugh pretty hard when the author alleged that the Victorians weren't very superstitious and also that the Old World Halloween focus on Death and Communion with those dead was 'too gruesome' for the Victorians... They were death OBSESSED.
