But James saying he isn't gay rubs me wrong. It'll probably turn out he identifies as bi, but James not identifying in a way that would make sense in a same-sex romance bothers me...

I'm at the beginning of part 2 and I just can't take it anymore. It's not the author's fault, really, this is well written and I applaud her for this book. I just want to rip it apart because I can't stand the main character. (Again, I know that he's supposed to be like this and it's not Scarlet's fault.)
