Status Updates From Little Women and Me

I fear I wont have anything good to say in a review about this so I won’t write one unless yall want me to

The writing is still not good.
But it is improving, actually. I can tell that the author is putting deeper meaning and thought into things now when she didn’t before. Even though there’s a lot wanting in this book, I will say that it IS getting better than it was at the beginning. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but… well I’ll elaborate when I actually do a review

All my beloved characters from Little Women have been done so dirty in this😭

OH I think it finally makes sense. Beth gets sick TWICE in the original book Little Women doesn’t she? That’s the only way what’s happening right now in this book would make sense I think…

So apparently Emily’s been in the story of Little Women for a year now… it certainly hasn’t felt like that long. And I still don’t think the timelines are matching up in the book because Beth is already sick at 14 years old and in the original book didn’t she get sick after the time skip, when she was older?

Ok so correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Beth get sick AFTER the time skip in the original book? Because the girls are the same age as in the beginning here, and Beth is already sick. But maybe I’m remembering the timeline wrong. But I had thought she was sick when Amy is overseas, and I KNOW that happens after the time skip

So the writing is still bad and Emily is still annoying but I THINK we're FINALLY getting somewhere with her character development so YAY

Emily: says the girls should make a pact no to let Laurie come between them
Sister: agree but are confused cause they wouldn’t let that happen
Jo: becomes friends with Laurie
Emily: thinks Jo is breaking the pact
Jo: is not breaking the pact
Emily: breaks the pact while being mad at Jo for “breaking it” even while she’s doing the same thing

Girlie is literally causing problems in the book she got sucked into and saying and thinking that it’s not her doing it when it literally is. She’s saying stuff about things coming between the sisters that DID NOT HAPPEN in the OG Little Women. Emily is just making drama where there should be none. Sorry I think this is just the most annoyed I’ve ever been with a character

I REALLY hope we’re going to get somewhere with Emily’s character development soon cause idk how much longer I can handle this selfish, stuck up, annoying attitude of hers. Usually I can tolerate that in a character, but it’s hard when it’s their WHOLE personality and they’re also the main character. She should be grateful that she’s insider her favorite book! I’d give anything for that!

I fear this may be the most I have ever cringed at a book

And yet I will continue to read the whole thing

Bought this because it was 50 cents and sounded cute. The writing is…um…not good at all…but I’m hooked so…
(My latest annoyance with the writing is putting ??? At the end of a sentence. You shouldn’t use THREE question marks to emphasize like that in an actual novel??? (Me using it myself lol)
