Status Updates From Singer Distance

First impression: A smart, (too smart?) alternate history, love story mixed with some mysterious communication with an alien race on Mars. The characters are likeable and interesting enough so far and the road trip setting is a change from what I've been reading lately. A little slow to start.

Anachronism about musical roads in Denmark. Set in 1960s but they were first created in the 90s. Hmmm. Also huge ass bombs for Mars to see?
