Results of abductive inference are demonstrable and testable, but not provable. If something is truly new, you will not be able to prove that it works. The idea of proof relies on and insists on both inductive and deductive reasoning, which wipes out new and innovative thinking

It's a dense book but really insightful. So far great discussion of what design synthesis is and the way different cognitive concepts play a role in it (thinking in associations, framing, mental models etc.).
