Have to stop again. Don't know if I have enough tears to read more. Heartwrenching.

I haven't read much further since the story seems bent on being very depressing. It's well written, but heavy. I'm not sure I'm in that heavy of a mood and may need to find something a little lighter in the meantime.

This story has brought me near tears several times. I've felt uncomfortable multiple times about having an Anglo heritage. Is it the harshness, heartlessness of the events or this author's depictions of them that make me feel guilty for having an English and Scotch-Irish heritage? I find reading this book very uncomfortable yet I'm determined to read to the end and intend to finish by next week Tuesday.

It's apparent that people in this idyllic family are going to die. I'm re-reading "The Gang..." simultaneously for its humor.
