Now I don’t fancy myself anything special. I’m not a writer. But I daresay- Steinbeck writing as if a great understander of the frogs (“frogs have every right to expect it will always be done that way” “frogs don’t resent that”) feels very Hannah. If I wrote, I too would give voice to the expectations and feelings of frogs.

I love the prose and love the characters. I feel like there is a lot that I’m missing each chapter and so I read a chapter, look up symbolism and then reread that chapter and it makes more sense I’m not that smart.
