the fact that chapter 2 of the second part is so short because gogol burned his manuscripts in a fire and then later on just fucking died without having rewriting chapter 2 and adding onto it…hoe i’m WITH the tortured artist movement ig but don’t burn your shit 3

Good so far, a bit of a challenge but it all makes sense. Interestingly so, it’s relatable still after 180 years.

Finished Chapter 2, currently really loving it
