I bought this tome of a book mainly for the "Timaeus" chapter, which was recommended as essential for my exploration of Middle Platonism. One thing I was struck by is the familiarity of the shared parenting referenced on page 1033. Which makes perfect sense, given that Aldous Huxley was directly influenced by Plato and the classical utopian tradition of "The Republic" when writing "Brave New World."
