Status Updates From Woman Who Walked Into Doors

“I was young, attractive with a loving attractive husband who was bringing home the bacon with a smile in his handsome face. I was loving and loved and sexy and pregnant. Then I was on the floor and that was the end of my life. The future stopped rolling in front of me. Everything stopped.”

Incredible writing! The dialogue, The pace! I feel like I can see the sisters sitting around the kitchen table. I had an uncomfortable moment when she was 11 but it was more about the language and thankfully she really was just being a typical 11 year old, I was relived.

I feel like I know what is coming, it feels so inevitable. This is the story of so many woman…..still enjoying it. Slightly challenging for me to read and make sense of with the back and forth dialogue, which I think is written as you would in a play, but I don’t mind the challenge.

It’s an easy read because I don’t want to stop but the language and content are difficult to read. It’s a good book.

I love the Irish dialogue! And still am amazed that this is written by a man !

This is a short book. There are lots of family names being mentioned, I always find that a challenge to keep up with who is who but so far so good. I’m getting to know the main character very well already and it’s just the start of the book. I was concerned to read a male author in this topic but he really does write well from the female perspective. I think this will be a quick read for me.
