Status Updates From The Year of Magical Thinking

A single person is missing to you and the whole world feels empty, ok she’s giving me feeling we are back

I found it difficult to get past the initial part of the book, given the death of her husband was upsetting to me (grief and all). Now I’m having a tough time feeling engaged at almost half way through. Those who have read this - what am I missing?
