I really like how well-sourced the books is but at the same Carter goes into so much detail about everyone's background and names so many people that it's hard to stay fully focused. The main Stonewall story is just starting though, so I'm hoping it gets more interesting from here.

I’m really struggling with the white-washing, as well as the sidelining of Marsha and Sylvia, and trans women and lesbians. It’s not just white gay men who led the revolution. Time and again it’s been documented that Sylvia was there from the start and Marsha arrived later. They never claimed to have thrown the first bricks, but to discount everyone unless they were white dudes is not okay.
