What a jump from a slow burn to this. Action within a chapter. Exciting writing.

From the good lords Manuel and Perolt to the Scottish guy the fate brought Buck to the hands of Charles and Hall who got minimum experience, which led to the tired dogs to get loose and escape for a little bit. That was a lesson for Hall and his sister Mercedes in order for them to get to Dawson they needed to leave half of their packed things and buy twice the dogs to carry all this.

I shouldn’t compare this to C&P and should read it on its own. The first chapter moved very quickly, immediately contrasting Buck’s comfortable four years with his new reality. I have hopes for this one—and eventually I want to see how it compares with White Fang.
