I wish the group of friars were real. I'd love to meet them. They're quite the interesting bunch. I'm liking this book.

The thing with the FedEx package was pretty predictable, but I'm enjoying the general story overall.

At first, I felt a bit like the characters were too much a smorgasborg, like it was like "I HATE to put in as many minority variations as I can!" But as the story has progressed, that's faded in the background::: There was one weird scene where a guy is hovering at the top of the stairs, invites the 3 friars upstairs, and then, when they get there, he's seated in a chair across the room. Why wouldn't he just wait?

So far it seems promising. That said, I'm getting distracted by the use of the "Ah" instead of "I" for those with a drawl. And, speaking of, one of the priests, Dylan I think - had a Tenessee drawl on one page, and a Kentucky one two pages later. I'm waiting to see if this is a character thing, or a flub.
