I first encountered Muir half a century ago as an undergrad. I’ve dipped into him, or read him steadily, a number of times in the succeeding years. “The Labyrinth” is one of the very great poems of the 20th century, though “The Horses” is more famous, but Muir reaches those heights only occasionally. But few poets do.
