This book is so good but so dark and f*cked up I can only read it in daylight so I don’t get nightmares

This….could be the best book I’ve ever read. But I have to take breaks because it’s so heavy. Fuck slave owners and anyone who upheld slavery! Or anyone who thinks we shouldn’t teach the horrors of slavery! Or anyone who believes we should celebrate ANY slave owner, no matter their contributions to this country!!!! It is that deep!

Update: still no reprieve from the heartbreak. But this book is also so beautiful? I’m also so mad??? I hate the man! And the government! And capitalism!!!! The power of the people are stronger than the people in power!!!

Guys this book is so depressing and beautiful will I get any reprieve
