I really appreciate how Sean and Josh McDowell express rejecting behaviors contrary to biblical principles can be an act of love. They demonstrate that guiding others toward truth, though uncomfortable, is caring rather than judgmental. Using the analogy of warning a friend in danger, they show how speaking biblical truth with care reflects concern, not control or shame.

I was impressed while looking through the table of contents, and flipping through a few chapters.
However the book reviews at the beginning are focused on wealth and debt reduction instead of God as the ultimate provider. The scriptures teach fulfillment comes from a relationship with Him, not material success. I'll continue reading however. Perhaps the book is richer than the reviews 👍🏽

**Psalms 22**
• This entire chapter is clearly a prophecy about the Christ. However two things come to mind. Either David "sat back" after he said/wrote these things and had no idea why he said/wrote that in the context of everything else he said/wrote; or some of this was written separately outside of the context of the verses preceeding/following.

This is the best series that I have ever read for the age-group my children are in. Every night they excitedly anticipate the moment I will start reading to them before we go to bed 🤠

I really appreciate the research that Anne Rice must have done to get the amount of historical accuracy that she has. I'm no slouch in my own studies of Jewish culture in the first century, so I am refreshed at the reminders I am drawn into as I read.

It's good to meditate on our own difficulties and challenges, or the difficulties and challenges of others. Especially when these trials are faced in pursuit of the greatest ideal of all. I pray that this gives each of us courage to carry on.

It is comforting for me to read of the extreme struggles that Pastor Popov had went through. The comfort of knowing that God is able to reach us no matter where we are, and the hope of eternity is real.

I'm enjoying the book. And despite some of the criticisms I've read about the juvenile vocabulary being used, I completely get it. What vocabulary and sentence structure would you expect from a book being narrated from the perspective of a young Jesus.

Beautiful book. It's glorious to listen to how many questions and insights Augustine had which are surprisingly so applicable to even modern culture ♡

As the years go by it's quite striking to me that I am finding that popularity and notoriety is not an exclusive club where talent is found. This book is the second one that I've read from Gerald N. Lund; and I am impressed by how much history and imagination he is able to digest.

I enjoyed his first book in this series and I look forward to every chapter of this one. Please join me ♡

We are all twisted. Those of us who are appalled at that proclamation are the ones I am most uncomfortable with. Orwell exposes some of the lesser accepted cracks in the human condition. Humanity needs an eternal solution more trustworthy than itself.

It could have been written yesterday. We are living in such a wacky world currently. Capitalism is considered evil, double speak and newspeak is in vogue, and history has been rewritten.

I continue to appreciate this well researched fictional account of the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth and these first century creative additions that this author added.

Soulfully exciting. I found the audio version on LibreVox while I track down a hardcopy locally here in the Philippines.

I have listened intently to the two and a half books. These are short books, the total of which is twenty-two. I find a great deal of affirmation in the philosophy of this work, and a great deal of education in regard to Roman and Greek culture/worldview/ideology. A very enriching work.

Surprisingly excellent book. I'm not qualified to argue the historical accuracy of this book, but the bit I do know about this time period is brought to life by the fictional depiction of these events. I read this to my children a few nights a week and they really enjoy it.

Reading a book like this is amazing. It is like I am reading about a real world, but it's not a real world , but it is :-)

I'm reading this book again, and I read my previous comments and thoughts as I was reading it. I continue to find so much truth in these pages. Douglas Rushkoff did a genius work on this thesis.

'Culture' that is the opportune word. A culture of elites has created a culture of wannabe elites. The latter who think they have some hope to be influential to some better end, all the while being herded like cattle.

Sometimes it's nice to take a break and listen to the lives of those who have come before us. Not sure if every generation comes to a time where they wistfully want for simpler times, but I know it's common for my generation and the one that came before me. This book lends to my enjoyment of the simpler remembrances for "days gone by".
