I'm reading this book again, and I read my previous comments and thoughts as I was reading it. I continue to find so much truth in these pages. Douglas Rushkoff did a genius work on this thesis.
'Culture' that is the opportune word. A culture of elites has created a culture of wannabe elites. The latter who think they have some hope to be influential to some better end, all the while being herded like cattle.

Nearly a decade ago I had committed to practice so many techniques like these; and they were effective towards the results that I had set for. I say that with a certain shame however. I was fooled, bamboozled into believing that the methods that I had learned were harmless, that my end goal for myself, though valuable primarily for me, would not hurt others.

This guy has amazing insight as to the methods being used by large advertising agencies and corporate anthropologists. ... If you don't already realize what is adeptly described in this book; you will never look at things the same way again.
