Quite literally the most thrilling book I’ve ever read. Maybe a 4.5 because the ending was a little meh, but it’s extremely difficult if not impossible to fully land a story this conceptual that starts out this strong. I really loved Marie and Adam.

Very pleasantly surprised—first half was a bit dense and a lot of the character work felt a bit abrupt/on the nose, but once the action really got going I was verrrry hooked. Sexy and fun and full of intrigue.

Maybe 3.5. Ultimately I enjoyed bc of the setup. Character work was clumsy but there. Was hoping for more of an explanation or mystery than there was, but the second half still rlly gripped me. An isolationist survival story done well can rlly reel u in.

Okay so she EATS!!! Very well wrought and surprisingly suspenseful I loved the main character and what started as a pretty typical school drama became a really poignant portrait of youth and war. Ms Szabo you will be seeing more of me…
