Best thing Chuck Palahniuk's done in ten years.

After several stinkers in a row, Chuck Palahniuk is back to writing about nihilism and rage! There's a Jack Donovan influence, and flirtation with alt-right and neoreactionary ideas.

This is his best work since Rant. It's good to see Chuck writing about things that matter again!

"Life is a hideous thing, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.....I have looked upon all that the universe has to hold of horror, and even the skies of spring and the flowers of summer must ever afterward be poison to me."

"in light of the inconsequentiality of mankind in an aimless cosmos, all we have to fall back on is tradition"

Not as good as John Joseph's biography

Recommended by Peter Theil and Tucker Carlson

Did you hear they're filming a sequel to Witness? It's called "Defendant"!

Not as good as the core Horus Heresy triliogy

"There are so many worlds still to be brought to compliance", Loken agreed. "One day, we will rest at last." "No", Sigismund replied bluntly. "The crusade will never end. Don't you know that?" Loken shook his head, "I wouldn't-" "Not ever", said Sigismund emphatically. "The more we spread, the more we find. World after world. New worlds to conquer. Space is limitless, and so is our appetite to master it."

The Ignace Karkasy story arc! This is the best fiction I've read in a long time. Brooding, technologically fantastic but believable in terms of mankind's eternal, unchanging nature.

I just finished TRANCE Formation of America: True life story of a mind control slave and gave it 3 stars.

The abuse and neglect of his foster home childhood is pretty gruesome. By the time he runs away as a teenager, it's a relentless horrorshow of drugs and violence. I'm a third of the way through the book, and he hasn't even met Harley Flannigan yet. The part where John Joseph gets beat up for stealing Johnny Thunders' beer was amusing.

Non-fiction on Lovecraft's personal philosophies. I might try to read Shoppenhauer after this, as he is referenced many times.
