Paul invites you to burn your résumé now rather than watch it combust on the day you die (1 Peter 1:7). It turns out that by following Jesus you cast off sins, regrets, shame, and your good works.

God is great and over all the details of life, and humility makes more sense when you know that. God is good and loves you right now. Such love, freely given and clearly unearned, is certainly humbling.
