There’s an ominous and uncertain feeling I’m getting with this. Nothing totally bad is happening and they are overcoming obstacles. Overall, a supposedly light read. But I can’t shake off the feeling of dread and angst.
I think I need to revisit later

DNF. I was looking forward to this since I like strong, brooding, heroes and he’s been portrayed consistently as such from the first books. Pair that with a damaged heroine in need of protection and it sounds like the perfect match to me. But I didn’t feel or get the characters’ back stories.

Also, I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two. The lines felt forced and awkward.

DNF - It had a pretty good idea for the story and I was looking forward to it. I just felt like I’m filling up too much of the plot holes and inconsistencies. It just started feeling senseless to me.

There were moments where I adore the characters. It’s unfortunate that I couldn’t find it in me to finish and find out about their HEA.

It seems like a fun read but at the same time, it feels tedious and trying hard. I feel like I’m wading through thick mud and been wondering from the start if this would be worth it. Idk. Maybe I’ll give it another go in the future?
