Absolutely terrifying to have essentially a court trial about you without warning and with the people in the town you are trapped in.
Very curious how they misinterpret Pew’s actions and don’t always bother to ask them when Pew is clearly able to at least nod.. idk

I honestly think it’s so interesting how this community of people seem so strange and almost self-righteous in each their own way while some (the ones pew opens up to) are at the other end of the spectrum, acting nearly self deprecating.
But the community as a whole seem determined to figure out what this thing is but also wish to keep community and hold a hand out? It feels so layered

How interesting it is to have people talk to you instead of with you when you don’t wish to have a conversation

I am flying through this.. so good… I think the relationship itself is overly unrealistic (instalove) but also.. this isn’t a romance! So! It doesn’t completely remove its bother to my soul but it isn’t as big of a deal

Firstly her name is Sophia so I fucked up my notes already, secondly I’m still so confused on what’s going on

Is Sophie a doll? Very clearly she’s meant to be a satirical depiction of the usual misogyny-based female character and it’s part of the horror but in a very very not obvious way, it’s just a part of Sophie’s world right now? At least I’m assuming but that’s what interpretation is all about

Sooo creepy and uncanny and it’s so so fun I’m actually so creeped out and confused I am overjoyed

Very lush writing, almost like a smell of floral but it’s accompanying a mismatched visual that is like another world trying to mimic our reality

Having a Character like Vernice who had a tragedy in a small, secluded town where there weren’t enough people to have these same experiences, so she feels particularly pitiful, and putting her into the real world where people experience tragedies everyday is so interesting. I wish she would stop being so self-pitiful but it’s all she really knows. I want her to grow

Also interesting commentary on specifically wishing to have an abortion to feel like a woman, a real person. The need to have something that is normally a traumatic event to happen because your own sense of self and what you experience has you feeling so far removed from the usual human experience, you want to have this trauma to feel usual

Genuinely I don’t really know what to say, it’s just a book to read to get perspective. I know being able to read books is a privilege but I never considered the levels to it, such as having access to books but not having the physical ability and strength to hold up a book or look down at the words.

I’m honestly interested to see where it goes, but I am seeing the usual critiques of stories that spread a life-span? I wish it would get to the main story, not to say I’m bored. It’s more like I’m really just not seeing where this is going

Ohhhhh my god I knew it would get disturbing and interesting I’ve been craving some good horror

So atmospheric and leaves you in an air of tension and worry even while the mc is just going to the outhouse, I’m desperate to learn his and the town’s secrets

What I really wanna say is that I feel so worried for the main character, which is entirely what I’m meant to feel so honestly! Good work so far!
The writing itself takes a slight bit more work to understand and interpret, but nothing that really kills the vibe and it works well to set the time period within the word choices. Very engrossing
