reading this bc I love Jennette McCurdy, but eugh, this is addictive and I want to keep reading BUT it's way more vulgar than I was expecting and also quite unbelievable, why has her teacher invited her round for dinner? after them having very minimal connection, it's just slightly underwhelming bc I know how well McCurdy can write so well

only on the intro rn, but I appreciate how compassionate of an approach this is taking, I can already relate to a lot of what Warwick has said so hopefully I can actually learn something from this instead of just being sad and horrified

luv a gimmick, although it's getting stale, plz just use the names of the furniture so I don't have to go on a wild goose chase through the book to find out what people are climbing on
also it's cringe that they keep name dropping ikea, I thought this was supposed to be ikea, so by placing it in the real world takes away from the fun

I was procrastinating starting it for no particular reason, but I'm into it

I can't decide if I'm enjoying this, which feels appropriate considering the content

maybe I'm too sensitive, but the way Padma was described seemed insensitive and overdramatised for comedic value , but I say that as someone who has not seen a mouldy rotting corpse of many months and she's long gone so hopefully she wouldn't have minded

I totally didn't expect Milli Hill to divulge into race politics within UPF food marketing, this is sooo well researched and there's mention of orthorexia which food companies will totally use to its advantage to promote UPF foods preventing people from 'suffering from eating too healthy'

really loving this, I'm connecting with it far more than Chris van Tulleken's Ultra Processed People, but I'm also enjoying how this is a complimentary addition to it, as Hill has started that reading Tulleken's work inspired her and she has referenced his findings thoughout
