Currently listening to the audiobook and oh my god, it’s actually perfect

I don’t normally update statuses but today has been a momentous occasion and I wanted to share the news!

3 Danmei novels written by MXTX will be getting an official English translation and the first volumes published this year! I’m so proud of the fandom as well as the translators for their perseverance and passion!

I am completely sucked into this book, which is surprising because I found ‘Sapiens’ to be a complete and utter bore that I couldn’t even get passed the first 30 pages without my eyes drooping. So far, it seems that ‘Homo Deus’ has a strong thesis / recurring theme that I can’t help but be spellbind by, even when it’s all quite scary and uncertain.

Okay I think I’m ready for my heart to be broken and then repaired by WangXian again…. Ahhhhhhhhh !!! I’ll be listening / reading the audio drama in the re-read this time … quite afraid… immensely afraid.

So I just woke up on a sleep deprived Thursday and I really really really wanted to re-read these books. I stopped reading up to book 4 and I have the rest of the books in my Kindle that I brought ages ago, but never got around to reading. I’m going to change this right now by re reading these books. I’m so excited!

Okay I’m actually doing this, I’ve seen so much hype from this series and I’m going to cave. Also, I’ve been watching a lot of Haikyuu!! lately and want a sports story but gay. Sign me up!!

The set up has been brilliant to read and every word that I’ve read has been so precisely crafted and orchestrated; it’s ingrained in my mind.

Ok this is not a good book to read at night because I’m literally getting *shivers* and it’s not even supposed to be that dark... so far I am LOVING it, and I can’t get enough. But I might have to continue tomorrow because damn, this shit’s scary.

I’m late to the party I know, and I’ve been so jealous seeing everyone’s glowing reviews and not knowing why it’s gotten so much hype but god damn am I ready to finally delve into this one!!!

Again, it’s another case of “I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to want to read this book” but I’m so glad I am. I am absolutely adoring it so far. Thank you, Justine for forcing this upon me 💕

We’re reaching the end game boos, and I think I’ve made up my mind about this book’s rating already.

Love it love it love it love it love it love it. The bone dry humour is honestly everything I need to close out the year, so far. I almost don’t want to continue, and this is a fake dating trope?! I normally stay away from those !!

I’m finally getting around to this after prolonging and prolonging - this will be the 150th book of 2021 for me, and I couldn’t be anymore happier that it’s by Alexis Hall.

I'm learning as I read, that this book is more philosophical than anything.

In my opinion, Alice Winters is a mixed author because her character’s banter/snark isn’t for everyone and some people might find it too OTT or overbearing. I’m giving this a go because I loved Hitman’s Guide, but I’m also sceptical because I hated the sequel to that and I DNF’d How to Vex a Vamp.

Honest to god, only this author is able to make me read the stuff that she delves in... because I can definitely say, that without a doubt, I would normally turn away from the things that have already happened so far.
