Good and getting better!

I’m telling you bro, Robin Hobb is always doing this!! This is immediately better than Ship of Magic. First book was all set up and now she’s got everything set for massive payoff and beautiful story. Glad I finished book one. Super pumped to be in book 2.

It makes sense why everyone gave ship of magic such positive reviews!! I will not amend mine, but I appreciate it because now I’m enjoying the trilogy.

Hmmm… I don’t know how to feel about this. I think Hobb has a lot of work to do in the 15% of the book that’s left

Alright we’re diving in to the next trilogy in the realm of the elderlings. 4 books deep will be the farthest I’ve tracked with one author since Tadd Williams. Let’s see if Hobb can get me

Dang why is kettle, ketricken, Fitz, the fool, starling, and nighteyes such a great road crew?

I almost cried when nighteyes came back. That is all.

We’re chugging along. Book had a really really strong start. We have slowed down a bit, just because I don’t like Fitz’s whole vengeance arc. But it’s okay, I am confident that Hobb will resolve everything going on inside Fitz… right? She will right???

Yep. Let's get to it!! Finishing this strong with no breaks. This trilogy is truly a masterpiece. I'd like to note that Royal assassin got 4 stars from me, BUT in the first 5 chapters of book three, I'm already at 5 stars. It's such a seamless continuation of the story and closes up every loose end that book 2 left me hanging with.

The set-up grows more intense. This is gonna be awful. Again, 5 out 5 stars

I can feel that I'm being set up for at least three major losses and I'm mad that I'm feeding into it. Oh, Fitz, here's the love of your life, a prince you admire, and a wolf cub that loves you. It would be a shame if there was upcoming emotional trauma on all three fronts . . . 5 stars

Ready to be done with it. Enjoyable but difficult. Ready to read something not so gothic and a little more adventurous and epic.

Okay we are to the point of no return. This book is finally fantastic. Glad I hung in there.

I would say that I'm liking it... not necessarily loving it yet.

Unfortunately . . . this might get slipped into the DNF category :(

I’m usually a big fantasy adventure reader. For some reason this book is really working for me. I’m hanging on every word and story. There’s a few things that seem superfluous so far but we’ll see if they end up being relevant somewhere.
