The first half was great, the second half bordered on conservative slop. How you write about demagogues, political pandering, and democracy all the way through Charlie Kirk’s murder and not mention or address Trump in any way is a massive error that undermines the objectivity of the book.

DNF - first book in years. I got to the SA scene and just couldn’t do it

This book is gross. Openly hostile to half the country and intentionally written as a conservative wet dream. It rails against east coast liberals (killing them gleefully), Muslim people (painting them as facially peaceful but secretly terroristic), and all of government. Everyone affiliated with this should be ashamed for not being able to put an ounce of real world nuance into the book.
