Book XI of XII: This chapter talks about the "future" of Adam, but mainly the story of their first children leading up to Noah's story.

My main takeaway was the "realization" about Adam & Eve leaving Paradise. In our modern world, it's like someone who is used to the "luxurious" life but is / will now face a life of hardships.

Book X of XII: The chapter summary in my book version is a pretty good summary. It really does aid in understanding this work.

I like that though Satan "won the battle", he didn't/wouldn't win the war. And I feel like Eve is a bit vindicated towards the end, especially with her hope about God's mercy and forgiveness.

Adam is still a bit of a blah for me.

Book IX of XII: The actual temptation and sin! Long chapter, but a fairly quick read.

Nakakaloka. Doesn't the name Eve mean "evil"!? Grabe yung thoughts ni Eve na sinulat ni JM dito. Or maybe it's brought about by the temptation of Satan too?
And Adam, jusko. What a weakling. Char.

Book VIII of XII: The shortest chapter, and probably why I didn't dwell on too much. One of my main takeaway was in this chapter was when Eve was created, because Adam needed a partner.
There's another book review that I read that says this chapter also talks about another world (or "Earth") that God created. Which seems really interesting.
Maybe when I have extra time or interest next time, I'll reread this chapter.

Book VII of XII: Pretty short chapter, and mainly is a mirror of the Creation story (Genesis 1). But imagine more "flowery" words and description. This section was pleasant to read!

Book VI of XII: Halfway through! Huhu

This chapter is mainly about the war in heaven when Satan and his crew rebelled. It felt a bit like the prophecies in the Book of Revelation, when Satan and his crew are banished to the depths of hell. And it was also Jesus, the Son of God, who triumphed over them!

May pa-3 days of war din, which I'm not sure if JM patterned against the 3days while Jesus laid in the tomb.

Book V of XII: I will power through this book this month!

What I like about this chapter is the "encouragement" that by obedience, man can return to the "Paradise". As early as that time (when the actual sin hasn't been done), there's already seemingly mercy and forgiveness.

Of course, there are still the Philippians 2 references and praises.

And Abdiel, though a fictional character, is an admirable angel!

Book IV of X11: Tempting talaga ang Tree of Knowledge, when you think about it.

Yet let me not forget what I have gained
From their own mouths; all is not theirs it seems:
One fatal Tree there stands of Knowledge called,
Forbidden them to taste: knowledge forbidd'n?
Suspicious, reasonless....

Book III of XII: This book/chapter was a fairly fast read for me, as most of the conversation is about God the Father and God the Son. My main takeaway is the similar reminder on Philippians 2.

Book II of XII: Slightly better reading experience. If you really focus on it, but not overthink, you'd appreciate the writing & story. During this book, it talks about the conversations of the different characters in Hell. It's amazing how you'd recognize Pride, Sloth, Greed, Lust among those banished characters to Hell. The Sin and Death analogies kinda blew me away.
Anyway, I enjoyed reading this book/chapter!

Book I of XII: Ang hirap basahin nito ha. But para naman dun sa mga naiintindihan ko, maganda rin naman yung naisulat. Pero jusko, nosebleed. Buti yung version ko ay pa-summary bawal "chapter" or book.

I get that there are no perfect moms. But this Guy Pearce just made an ass of himself with his letter.

Not much has changed. It's still the same people who can choose (or more like push) where they get to live, and who gets to live in their land. Screw everyone else.

It's frustrating. And maddening.

Sometimes though, choosing to fight for the weak has its temptations, as well. Because when you become strong, you might also become like these same "strong" people you fought against.

Hmm... Now what?

Short chapter/s, but mostly about Napoleon and Kutusov and the war in general. I have to admit that I didn't dwell too much on these.

Natasha redeemed herself in this chapter at least.
