I didn't expect the ending. The ending was so far off my guess. It really made me think back to the begging of the book.

I think this part was great for the book. It really made it a lot easier to understnad

I got confused when they started talking about something wayyyyy different then they just were. I dont know why they did that but they did

A question I have is why did the Author make this book. Like it's never something that could happen in real life

I reread this part because I did not understand it at all. I was confused so I reread the page

Using fix ups- I had a really hard time focusing today. Probably because of my birthday and I was really excited.

Visualizing- I can picture in my mind what this scene is like. The author did a very good job in explain detail in this.

Predicting- I predict that they will eventually find what they are looking for. And I hope I am right.

Questioning- While I was reading today I kept thinking what was going through their minds at this point.

identifying a problem- I did not expect them to escape them. While I was reading they finally escaped the people who trapped them.

using fix ups- I had to reread a bunch because I could not focus because there was a lot of distractions in my house

Using fix-ups - I reread this one part like 4 times because I was getting distracted by noises in my house. I was also getting bored of reading so I could not really focus.

making connections- This is like the time I was playing video games with my friends and they trapped me somewhere and I couldn't get out until the game was done.

visualizing- I can picture in my mind where they are and what it is like to being trapped down there

Questioning- There was a man that died last night. I wonder why he died. Was it because he was involved in something bad or maybe he just wasn't liked. Or he might have killed someone which might have led to him getting killed. But I wonder why he was killed

Using fix ups- I reread a note in the book that they found because it didn't make sense to me. It was a confusing note so I had to read it twice to get it. After the second time I read it, I got it and then continued on in the book.

Visualization- I can see a dark weird swamp with no animal life what so ever. It is just a couple trees surrounding a lake. It is very quite except for the voices of the people.

In the beginning of this book it starts with the main character and his friends in a dark well. Then later he says they are in the well because the had to hide from someone. My question is why are they hiding from someone and why would they hide in a well.

Mood- The mood is intense when June finds out Thomas has killed her brother and Day's mother. It is also sad because June and Day's family has been killed.

antagonist- The antagonist in the book Champion is the Republic. The Republic are bad because they try to control everything each person does.

protagonists- There are two protagonists in my story. They are June a girl and Day a guy.

Falling action-Calie finally for sure totally gives up on finding her dad. She also accepts that hes gone and will never come back. She is going to try to live the rest of her to the best she can.

Rising action- Callie for some reason was happy and she was actually motivated to do stuff. I don't know if it was because she realized that she would never find her dad or if she might be able to find him.

Dynamic Character- The dynamic character is Callie. She goes from very hopeful in the beginning of the book to not hopeful at all twords the end of the book.

Round character- The round character is Callie in this book. She is the round character because we know a lot about her. We are finding new things about her every time I read. She is the main character too so that helps finding out new details about her.

Imagery- When the earthquake was happening Callie could feel her body get warmer and warmer. She could also feel her head turn bright red just like a tomato.

Simile "The fire and the pavement cracked like broken glass." This is a simile because it is using like and is comparing two things together. The pavement was like this because Callie's home town just went through an earthquake. When Callie and her friend were walking around they noticed all this cracked pavement.

Antagonist- The antagonist in this story could be Callies dad. It could be him because he left Callie and her family. And he has caused them a lot of stress and time and probably money. Since he has left they have been really sad and rarely ever happy.
