Grace > Recent Status Updates

I could have read this in a day -- the story is as engaging as ever and the characters alive on the pages -- but I find myself having to put it down over and over again because of the talk about the pandemic. COVID was absolutely nowhere near as bad as the Georgian Flu, but (and I keep returning to this) *it could have been.* Every paragraph, I find myself thinking, "what if this is what had happened" and it's scary.

Oh yeah, baby. Second time reading this for CBU and I’m so ready. Might even watch the tv show this time.

I’m actually REALLY excited for this

I hope, in many ways, that I’ll live a life similar to Rilke’s: a constant stream of visitors staying at my house, abiding friendships with people of both genders, life in many beautiful countries, writing sincere poetry, embracing uncertainty, and remaining convinced of the inexplicable beauties of life.

I move so slowly through this book because I reread each letter multiple times, carefully. Rilke will always be my favorite. Sometimes it makes me sad that the people who seem to understand me the most are separated by so many years in death. But I guess Rilke would say we aren’t that separate after all.

They said I couldn’t finish this in time for Wednesday’s class. They were WRONG!
