In the section "Fifteen going on..." Jessica is getting yelled at because her mom doesn't believe that Hope is her best friend, and instead thinks that Bridget is. Hope is the kindest and most caring friend of Jessica's meanwhile Bridget and her stopped being friends because she became too bossy. Her best friend is going to be leaving soon, so today is the last day that she can see her, so she runs to her house.

In the section "The mud and fever dialogue", Pyrrho gets sick in the summer for a couple of weeks. This changes his whole life right in front of his family. He tried to get bitten by wild dogs, tried to drown, fall off a cliff, eat things that would make him throw up blood, sit in the sun to get dehydrated etc. This was a way of his "philosophy", he exclaimed. Finally, his brother knocked sense into him in the mud.

In the last part of Cowgirls and Indie boys, Sulk is finally allowed to go to a party with Gemma and the bees. They gave her a makover and dressed her up like a cowgirl to be ready to kiss the guy they picked out for her. But then Gemma lashes out out of nowhere once she sees Sulk all dressed up under the command of Carmen. As Sulk was going to go on her date, she saw Gemma sitting by a tree and sat down next to her.

Sulk explains how her and Gemma became friends when they were younger because Gemma was British and Sulk learned British English in India so they got along. Sulk finally convinced her parents to let her go to a party and have fun with a guy the ''Bees" set up for her.

There is an Indian girl named Suzy and she is going to turn 16, but has never been kissed before. Adding on to that, her best friend Gemma got accepted into the "Bees" (popular group of people) and is acting really cold toward Suzy. Her parents won't let her go to parties because they think that only bad things will happen, but she only wants to go have fun with her friends.

In this part of the book Emma has mono, got a bike instead of a car and her boyfriend cheated on her with two girls on her birthday. Her friend tells her that her sweet sixteen is coming up, but Emma still has mono. Over the next days she heals and is able to go to her friends Sweet. She sees Jordan there and as she goes over there he apologizes and kisses her, but she realizes that he isn't worth her time anymore.

This girl Emma is the unluckiest girl in the world when it comes to her birthday. Every single birthday something always goes wrong from Disney World cancelation because of the frozen pipes to slamming her finger on a door and having to go to the ER. She is talking about how everyone is going to a party in Miami but she is stuck with her mom for the whole weekend by herself.

This section called Nebraska 99, the main character is a girl that has a baby at the age of 16. It goes into detail about how she lives life, living with her boyfriend Tommy, since her mom kicked her out and her 20 month baby named TJ. The "dead girls" are a group of her friends that are also pregnant and in the same situation but are 18. They help her out with buying cheap food and clothes for TJ to be happy.

This part of the book is called Kissing Lessons. It is about how this guy who goes to play camp and gets embarrased, when on the final kiss he tired to kiss the girl in the play and he ended up biting her lip. His friends Manon then tells him that she got him lessons from a girl which helps him out when he found out that he had been a natural. Manon, who lived in New York, moved to Chicago to go to school with him.

A tourist from Florida named Francesca or Fran for short, is in Venice, Italy for her birthday. She is exploring a muesum all alone by herself, because she likes to study Frescos type of art). She then bumps into a guy named Marco there and he instantly catches her eye. They explored around Italy to a place he wanted to show her. He showed her to the library, which lead him to kiss her under the ceiling of a mural.

In this part of the book called Venetian Fan, it is this girl's 16th birthday. She is feeling all alone and lonely, because she has never kissed anyone before. As a guy walks past her, he asks if she is into art and they immediately bonded. He took her to look at Frescos (type of painting) and it was like a first date.

There are two people named Jodi and John in this part of the book. They have been together for about all of Junior year, going into Senior. John gets sad when he finds out that all of the East schools declined him to get into college. So he decided to apply for the school that his girlfriend was enrolling at. His mom said that he should go into a college where he wants to go not only because of Jodi.

In this section of the book called "The day I turned chickenhearted"; this one guy liked a girl named Jodi Dunne. He describes how at first he judged her a lot about whether she was rich or would be a good girlfriend. But later on they started dating. It mostly takes place at school, where they started to just look at each other. Some imagery in this book is when they stared at each other in the darkened room in art.

Bria found out that Flynn, her aunt and her new uncle; have a new cat named Bitsy. On her way to her home she accidently ran over a cat that was striped, just how Bitsy was described. She didn't want to tell Flynn that she ran him over because she liked him alot. As they went outside to search for the cat, she was about to tell him, when a striped cat brushed up against her foot. It was their cat!

In this section of the book, it's Umbria's birthday. She got her drivers lisense so she and her brother Paris drove to her aunt's house to celebrate. In the dark as they were driving, she hit a striped cat on the road and started to cry. As Paris tried to calm her down, they reached her aunts house. She saw a guy named Flynn, who was her aunts new boyfriend and immediately fell in love. Later on, they mention a cat.

Ian is trying to get into the college of his dreams, but his boyfriends's dad is making it hard for him. Since Thom ( Ian's boyfriend) wants to keep their relationship a secret, Thom's dad doesn't know that they are dating, or that his own son is gay. When Thom's dad looked at Ian's ttranscript, and it said he was in the Pride Parade, Coming Out Day and GSA (Gay-straight alliance), Ian tried to cover it up.

In this part of the book Ian talks about how he has to keep his relationship with his boyfriend, a secret. They have been together for 3 months, sneaking around without Thom's dad knowing. When Ian wanted to get into a college, his boyfriend's dad was the head of the college.

In my book, this girl had a bestfriend that she hadn't seen in a year. She remembers having so much fun outside with her and breaking rules. But as she invited her to her lodge with some guys she seemed off. She just sat there not involved in any conversation, and was polite saying, thankyou and its a pleasure to meet you.

In this part of the book, this girl talks about how her dad broke a promise of never dying, until he had a stroke and died. She talks about how her dad had a hard time believing that her mom didn't love him anymore. She likes her mom's husband, but everything wasn't the same.

It was Rutsford's birthday, and since his dad made him have sex with a girl that he barely knew, Rutsford was upset, that his dad would even bring that up with him on his birthday. The symbolism is his dad, that represents pressure on Rutsford to do it, because he didn't have a choice.

In this short story called Rutford becomes a man, he is in his room dreading to go downstairs even though its is birthday. His mom comes upstairs, pounds on the door and demands that he comes down at once. While trying to at least enjoy his breakfast, his dad starts to argue with him until they give him his birthday gift. That birthday gift was sending him to the brothel.

In this short story, this story mainly takes place at home with her mom and her. Emily Milty ( the main character) talks about how life is at home, without a dad and a sister that got pregnant at 17 and ran away with her boyfriend. She explains how hard it is on her mom, and that she hangs out with her mom instead of being like a normal teen, that hangs out with her friends and boyfriend.

I think that this story is all focused on a theme. That theme is love.

These small stories are all in detail and send a deep meaning to the reader.
