Sam and Celaena went to the two ships that held the slaves. She tied up the guards and captain, and went to the slaves. She told them to sail at dawn and not to stop while Sam and her made a distraction on land and slowed down the pirates from catching them.

Celaena and Sam went to see the slaves Rolfe is selling Aro. They fight on the beach about ruining the business deal and Sam agrees.

Celaena is trying to ruin Arobynn’s investment. She must hide her identity because she’s the world’s best assassin. Sam is jealous of her position in the Assassin’s Guild and is tired of her ordering him around. Celaena is arrogant and overly confident.

Celaena is an assassin part of the Assassin’s Guild. Sam is a year older than her, a fellow assassin she butts heads with. Arobynn is her master. Her friend Ben was killed and she retrieved his body.

Celaena and Sam traveled to Skull’s Bay to talk to the Pirate Lord, Rolfe, to send a message from Arobynn. She thought it was retribution for dead assassins, but it was a business proposition in the slave trade.

They talk a lot and he definitely fell first. At the coffee shop, Millie sees her ex and she pulls Finn close. Something has changed between them.

Millie gets along well with Finn’s nieces. They bump into each other at the bakery and at camp, where Lena sets up Millie to go to Finn’s house to make pizza with the girls.

Millie got a trial period for the new job she wants starting in 4 weeks.

* This book makes me realize that I hate when the main character has a friend that sets up the plot by tricking them.

Millie’s interview went well and Finn starts being oddly nice to her. The kids come for camp and Finn brings Avery and Eloise, his sister’s daughters that he is the sole caretaker of. Clara, his sister, died from cancer. Finn is lonely and grieving with his nieces.

She crashes into bro and he’s one of the right people interviewing her.

Millie is hoping to become the curator of the entomology department. Finn is the grumpy director of the astronomy department. Every interaction is tense. At a meeting, they discuss how children are coming for a week at the museum and the departments must cater programs for them to follow.

Each chapter is from either character’s POV. Finn’s sister passed away and his mother is manipulative.

Nes lives in the House of Wind, gifted to her by Rhys. Nes and Cass are to have a grand mating ceremony. Feyre, Elain, and Nes visit their father’s grave.

Cass meets Eris to find out how much Beron knows. He finds out that Eris is still their ally. Cass asks him why he left Mor that day when he seems like such a good guy. Eris doesn’t answer him. Cass has everything that he doesn’t and he thinks that Eris wants to be like him, a good guy, but he’s in a crappy situation.

Feyre and Rhys’ son is named Nyx. Nes altered her anatomy to a female Illyrian, like Feyre’s had changed, for when she and Cass want kids. Nes said “I love you” to Cass.

Nes made a bargain with the Cauldron: she gave all she stole from it back in exchange for the lives of Feyre and her baby. Rhys knelt on his two knees and thanked Nes. She hugged him.

Feyre was bleeding out. The baby was stuck in the birth canal. Madja, the healer, did a C-section. Nes close her eyes and the Mask, Harp, and Crown were on her.

Cass didn’t actually stag himself. Mor and Az show up urgently about Feyre.

Briallyn explained how she planned for Bellius to hunt Nes and the females down, rigged the Rite with weapons, and used Eris and Cass to get to Nes. She wanted the rest of the Trove. She used Cass to pin Nes and commanded him to kill. He stabbed himself in the chest. Nes turned Briallyn to ash.

Bellius almost killed Nes, but Cass windowed to her and killed him. Then he hugged Nes and said he’d kill her. It was Briallyn controlling him.

Nes fought Bellius still, but she was taking a beating. He disarmed her and then it was hand-to-hand combat. She called Cassian her mate.

Az escaped with Eris and Cass was stuck under the influence of Briallyn. She said she needed him. Koschei winnowed Bri and Cass somewhere.

Nes killed all the males but Bellius, Emerie’s cousin. Emerie and Gwyn made it to the top and winnowed. Nes fought Bellius.

Nes had off the males at the bottleneck. Ataraxia was what she mães her magic sword. It meant Inner Peace.

Nes, Gwyn, and Emerie had made it to the Pass of Enaulis. Gwyn was injured and carried on Nes until she couldn’t. She told Emerie to put Gwyn on her back and make it up the rest is the peak while Nes stayed there to hold off a group of 6 males coming to them.

Cass and Az saw Eris with Briallyn. Eris threaten Cass, but he was under the influence of Bri. They walked to a lake with him and met Koschei.

Nes, Gwyn, and Emerie slept in trees and hiked toward Ramiel, the highest peak. They fought their way to the base of the peak. They debated on whether to climb it. Gwyn shared her story—her assault and sister’s death. Emerie shared her abused by her father and being compliant in her mother’s death. Nes told her story. They decided to climb to prove to themselves that it can be done.

They found Gwyn after being abducted by Emerie’s cousin and his band. Gwyn attracted a beast to them and Nes, Gwyn, and Emerie escaped.

Nes was attacked by another warrior. She stabbed him in the balls, stole his bow and arrows, and left him. Nes found Emerie, saved her from the water, and warmed her. Another warrior found her and promised not to hurt them. He guided them to a cave and they spent the night in there. In the morning, he left and Nes and Emerie decided to leave for the south to Gwyn.

Nes found her friendship charm glowed in the direction of her friends. She followed it northward until an Illyrian warrior found her… Cas was on the continent looking for Eris.

Nes made her first kill, changed her clothes, and acquired a dagger. Cass wanted to go after the women, but the rules state that interrupting the Rite meant death. Eris was captured by Briallyn. Az and Cass had to go get him. Rhys can’t because the life bargain he and Feyre made: if one dies, the other dies.

Nes, Emerie, and Gwyn were abducted by Illyrians to participate in the Blood Rite.

It’s spring now. Eris met Cass and Nes in the Middle. They out-sassed him. Cass revealed that they are mates! Nes was scared and called in her bargain—that he leave her alone until she spoke to him or a week passed. Nes, Emerie, and Gwyn hung out in Illyria and talked about it. They all were mysteriously abducted.

Nes made it down the stairs again. This time, she stared up to the House of Wind and smiled while she thought of Cass. It was Starfall and she cried and laughed at how beautiful the night was. Amren saw her and Nes apologized to her. Amren told her that Nes Made the House, because what she needed was a friend and she Made it home. Amren said welcome back to the Night Court.
