Celaena/Aelin was on kitchen duty with two new characters: Emrys, an old demi-Fae, and Luca, a young demi-Fae. They spoke of lower magic like growing plants and finding water, and more valuable magic like controlling fire and shapeshifting. Celaena was to train her magic with Rowan to see if she was worthy of entering Doranelle.

Manon is part of the Thirteen, witches chosen by the Mother (her grandmother) to guard. Manon is informed by the Mother Blackbeak that the King wanted their witches to ride the wyverns. Chaol finds his guards were invited to parties by Aedion and let their posts.

Aelin meets her aunt, Queen Maeve, who seems to have daemati powers! She is rude and demands that Aelin trains with Rowan until her powers are mastered—blue flame.

Little faeries found Celaena in the woods with Rowan. Aedion tripped Dorian on purpose. His healer, Sorscha, has loved him for six years in secret.

Manon, the heir to the Blackbeak Witch-Clan. She hunts down Crochan witches by order of the Ironteeth Witches.

Chaol knows Celaena is Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, her great-grandmother was Mab, one of the three Queens of Terrasen. Aedion Ashryver, who faithfully serves the King, came to the castle with a black ring. He provoked Dorian almost to the point of unleashing his power. Chaol covered for him.

A Fae named Rowan with silver hair and pine green eyes is taking her somewhere.

Celaena is a filthy, drunken mess in Wendlyn, who has lost all hope in completing her oath to Nehemia. She spots Galan Ashryver, a relative.

Celaena is Aelin Galaythynius. She was the princess of Terrasen, now the rightful Queen of Terrasen. OMG!

Celaena said her goodbye to Dorian and an extremely cryptic goodbye to Chaol after telling him about the Wyrdkeys. She went on the boat after thinking he’d hate her when he found out what the message meant.

Celaena went to Nehemia’s grave and promised to take down the King and restore freedom to Eyllwe.

Chaol’s idea to send Celaena to Wendlyn convinced the king to send her tomorrow. The King has knew of Yellowlegs death and the portal opening, but didn’t know who did it. He is preparing legions of wyverns in the Ferian Gap. Celaena found out that Nehemia planned her death so that it would make Celaena act. Elena told her to stop hiding from her past.

Chaol and Dorian were healed along with Fleetfoot. Celaena said she’d never trust Chaol. Chaol will propose a plan to send Celaena to Wendlyn, the last stronghold for Fae. He knew she’d be safe there.

Celaena and Dorian closed the portal. Celaena killed Archer in the sewer.

Nehemia came through and told Celaena to never do it again for others will come out. Archer appeared and said he’s been in the castle. He was against Nehemia who wanted to destroy the Wyrdkeys. He hired Graves to kill Nehemia. Nehemia knew it was her fate and that it would start change. Celaena tried to kill Archer, and a monster came through. Chaol and Dorian came to the rescue.

Celaena discovered where one of the Wyrdkeys was held, though the King had removed it before he turned 20. She discovered he removed all magic but from himself and Dorian. She needed more answers and decided to open a portal to see Nehemia. King Gavin showed up in Dorian’s dream, telling him to stop Celaena.

My god—Celaena went into the dungeons under the library and some human-like creature attacked her. Dorian had followed her down there and helped her kill it. They sealed the iron door. Dorian exposed his magic to her. They made a plan for what to do next.

Celaena killed Yellowlegs, to protect Dorian and herself. She went to the tomb and Mort told her to that the witches will hear and might try to get revenge. Chaol saw Celaena’s will; she left everything to Chaol so he’d never have to go to his dad in Anielle.

Celaena saw Yellowlegs, the witch. She told her about the poem: 3 wyrdkeys with immense power and wyrdgates all over Erilea to different realms. The witch knocked her out.

Celaena watched Archer’s house and saw him fight with the same guard that stood between her and Chaol long ago; he has shoulder-length black hair and he’s young. Celaena had dinner with Dorian. Celaena would ask Elena for help with the riddle.

The lament Celaena sang was of the Fae language, and only the nobility knew it; Chaol found out. Celaena spoke to Dorian.

Archer’s fake death was coming soon. Chaol saw his father, who tried to convince him to come back to his family for his own means. Celaena found a book like Davis’ in Nehemia’s things. Celaena found a riddle in the tomb that meant there were 3 things hidden to find. Celaena grieved at Nehemia’s tomb and sang a song of grief. Chaol saw and had to walk away.

Celaena found Grave, who had certainly done it, by traveling to The Vaults to ask around. She found him in a bar and tortured him until he told her who hired him—the chapter ended without saying who.

Chaol’s father was coming to the castle. Dorian has been disobeying his father in meetings, Roland supporting him. Celaena thinks Grave was hired to kill Nehemia.

We got the story of a slave in Calaculla who heard of Nehemia’s death and had given up.

Celaena was thrown into the dungeon for attacking Chaol. She spent 4 days covered in blood and dirt, and swore she’d kill Chaol if she ever saw him again. Chaol realized he lost Celaena. He put her in her rooms and she stayed there for days.

Celaena attacks Chaol for having known about the threat on Nehemia’s life.

Nehemia was found dead in her room.
