Have you ever read the first paragraph of a book and known instantly that it was going to be fantastic. This is exactly how I felt starting The Bird in the Bamboo Cage. I read the first 2 chapters last night and would easily have kept going if my eyes hadn't closed and my kindle smacked me in the head. The writing is exquisite and I was pulled right into the story. This is going to be an amazing read, I just know it.

Finished this wonderful MG book and can't wait to write up my review.

It's release day for Nightmare Realities 2. This is my second collection of spooky short stories for children aged 8+ and I'm delighted with the reviews so far.

started this last night and couldn't put it down. Gripped me from the first page and the writing is excellent. I feel like I know the characters intimately and can feel their tortured emotions. Brilliant writing so far. Can't wait to see how this one ends up.

Have to go out in the storm to bring my daughter to drama. Thank god for books so I won’t be bored waiting. Hoping to finish After She Vanished by S A Dunphy while I wait in the car.

Over have way through this book and loving it. Thankfully I have the next two as well so can continue reading.

Started this last night and enjoying it so far.

13% in and loving this book so far. The two main female characters are strong and there's been plenty of action. I'm loving the interaction between the characters and I have a funny feeling this is going to be a book that I won't want to put down.

Finished reading this and enjoyed it. Review to follow on publication day.

I received an arc of this from Netgalley and started it last night. After over an hour of reading I’ve only got to 3% and my kindle says I’ve another 25 hours left. So far I’ve only met 2 characters and have no idea who they are or what the story is about. This may be a Dnf for me.

I am totally hooked by the storyline in this book now. My mind is on overdrive trying to think what is going to happen next, who the bad guy is going to be and how the story is going to turn out. There were a couple of moments where I had tears reading this, especially the husband's letters to his dead wife. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to well up. There's a big twist coming, I just know it and I can't.
