Getting back into the plot!

Finishing this up today! Dunno how far along my hubby is but he’ll catch up, lol.

They’re conveniently married now, folks! Let’s dial up that tension!

Doing a re-read of this book as a buddy read with my husband now that we’ve finished “Jack Reacher.”

I’ve been reluctant in the past to engage with classic retellings because certain ones are just terrible (looking at you, P&P with zombies) but the cover on this one grabbed my attention and I’m hoping the sci-fi elements will make an old tale new again!

Curious how this one will end because this is the last Jack Reacher story (other than the ones Lee Child co-wrote with his son)

Katie and Lyndsey were right: this is fantastic fun! One novella down, two to go.

I don’t think, until recently, I realized how much my heart was craving characters that think and talk like me. Don’t get me wrong: relatability isn’t my first reason for taking up a book—or putting it down!—because a story can do a lot of things with people who don’t resemble me. But the warmth that comes from, “Oh, I get that on a deep level,” especially faith-related, is unexpectedly comforting.

Re-reading this for a friend’s summertime Jane Austen reading challenge!

I decided to re-read this book as a christening of our new home. Felt like the perfect choice.

Going to try and finish this today.

I’m enjoying the story as a whole but I’ve been reading it at night after long, busy days, and as a consequence can barely keep my eyes open.

For the record: “young readers edition, no explicit language” just means no f— or s— words. Everything else is still there, including both b— words and the boob joke.

Currently working my way through the Young Readers Edition to see if my oldest (he's 11) can read it!
