I currently like the tension in this book, I feel like as the second book of a three-book series the author did an excellent job at increasing tension in a way that doesn't make this book feel like a filler book.

After hearing the news that her mother is sick, Averys' mother moves the whole family to Bardell, Georgia, Avery learns about her grandmother makes new friends at school, and learns about the history of the South.

favorite scene: I havent read too much if the book but so far my favorite scene is mamas lettys introduction to the story shes a blunt old woman and the way she entered the story made her sound like she meant business even though she was dying.

setting: multiple different area but my favorite so far is alcatrez in the us California
favorite scene: in the dream world we see a monster named keli that rips through humans with a smile I would think that would be a cool scene to see if it was animated or acted

main characters are simone, Mama Letty, and every
supporting characters are aviaries parents and simone parents
