Lyn Elliott is starting A World of Other People (The Eliot Quartet, #2)
I’m about half way through, gripped by the unfolding story.

Thanks to Lisa Hill again for her pointer to Carrol

Lyn Elliott is on page 100 of 384 of Hey, Sherlock!
I've just read two of the three of Simon Mason's YA Crime series - Running Girl and this one, Hey Shylock.
A friend who works in the same community bookshop as me recommended a new adult book by Mason, but these were the only two I could find easily.
His characters and style are distinctive, but I'm going to switch back to trying the books for adults

Lyn Elliott is on page 290 of 616 of We Don't Know Ourselves: A Personal History of Modern Ireland
I had to return this to the Library as it's in high demand following O'Toole's appearance at Adelaide Writers Week two months ago. I've bought a copy and will get back to it once I've returned other library borrowings, and I know it's a book I'll want to use for future reference.

Lyn Elliott is on page 250 of 720 of The Embarrassment of Riches: An Interpretation of Dutch Culture in the Golden Age
So much detail that I am taking careful notes to make sure I catch major ideas. I manage about 10-20 pages a day, and have a long way to go!

Lyn Elliott is starting Burning Questions: Essays and Occasional Pieces, 2004 to 2021
I think I enjoy Atwood’s short pieces more than her novels, as her own acerbic, witty voice is heard unfiltered.
I enjoy dipping in to this collection.

Lyn Elliott is starting Borderland: A Journey through the History of Ukraine
Ukraine means Borderland, Reid says.

Borderland means occupation, reoccupation repeated over centuries, with millions of people murdered again and again. Russia has an outstanding history of repression and mass murder here. What we are seeing now is a terrible repeat.

Mantel's writing is superlative; the story darker and darker as we near the inevitable end.

Lyn Elliott is starting Jacob's Ladder
I’ve had to return this to the library and reserve it again, so it’s on hold for a few weeks. Will I remember the complexities? Probably not.
