The book, collection might be a more apropriate word started slow, but is more enjoyable by the page one can see the seeds of many of Dickens' later novels but from a birds eye view, it works sort of like an overture to his later body of work.

i think I spotted some narrative continuity, more like an easter egg than anything.

a few of these sketches are quite enjoyable, Dickens' interest in social issues was a stapple since the very beginning.

still interesting, it hasn´t ever reached 5/5 ground so far but it hasn´t gone stale or boring in 900 pages and thar is a feat in itself.
