Latest tangent at least feels relevant, V and C pretty cute, add M and all hell breaks loose, I can see V being more scared than the J and TH encounter.

had to track back and re-read the final chapters of "Marius" volume, this is sooo good!!!, why did I stop reading this?, must have been some sort of commitment.
ohh I remember it was to read Proust with my friends, that I had not picked this up again must be the biggest disservice I've done to myself ever.

Les Mis up to the end of volume 3
Hugo is a master portraying difficult decisions for his characters.
A Master plotting his novel, its a shame his tangents take you out of the story, and that he makes some groups of characters so annoying you end up dreading to read their sections.
I can see the appeal of the abridged versions

Really invested in Marius and his Grandfather, they reminds me of my late father and myself.
The encounter of Marius's grandpa and Theodule was great!
I'm not buying this theory that if you grow up miserable and prosper in life you will become virtuous and caring.
I wonder what would Hugo think if he saw the rags to riches stories of Athletes of recent times...
Hated Marius's friends.
