It was time for me to pick up this classic portal fantasy shojo manga.

🤢 Why did the author have to write from both PoV? I hate this. It ruins the tension in the story and very few authors have the skill to get me to differentiate both protagonist while writing in 1st person. 🤮

I'm going to give this book a chance even if it is written in 1st POV which I hate so much. It might be a good story.

This books are potato chips. You can’t read just one. I am enjoying reading about Bowen.

Almost all of this series is on Kindle Unlimited and I am going to read it. I love PNR and Kresley Cole is an excellent writer.

Sorry, but I can safely say that Bowen Macrieve is way better man when Will ever be.

Bowen just got a personality transplant and is now the hood guy we always wanted him to be.

I supposed the only way for this to work out somewhat after all that hate is for there to be some form of personality transplant. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😑😑

😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Bowe is sooo rape-y 😳 😑 😐 Cole is such a good writer but the men she writes are some serious assholes.

Kresley Cole is a really good writer. Like really good. So much so that when I see her books on Kindle Unlimited I just have to read them.

If the guy she is interacting with is the love interest I am out.

Are most authors now writing characters who purposefully get themselves into stupid situations?

I see a disturbing trend of female rage in the last few books I have picked up. All the MCs are angry at their fathers and society. 😮‍💨

The prose is really bad.

The prose in this book is really good. One can tell it has gone through multiple rounds of editing. Big houses need to invest in editors and bring to audience more complex ideas and writing styles.

The emotions "rage" and "fear" being introduce at the very first moment into a romantic Fantasy are quite off putting. The prose is not so bad but I am still deciding with this one.

Changing PoV and jumping from head to head is a cardinal sin. Not only does it confuse the reader but it ruins the suspense as the reader discovers the story. It is important to have the story unfold from one espeficic POV.

Right off the bat I can tell the prose needs some serious refining. It reads like a polished manuscript ready for its serious editor to pick it up. So glad this is in Kindle Unlimited.

Rain's paranoia sounded strange at this point in the series but everything he says turns out to be true. 🫣

I'm reading this again. This book series is the OG romantasy series along with Kresley Coles series of The Immortals After Dark.

That pig's speech was inspiring. I wanted to get on my feet, placed my hand over my heart, and played the USSR anthem. 😂😂😂😂😂

The threat of those ice monsters was good but the story lost urgency and now i am just trying to finish.

Aaand we are back to the drama once more. 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Okay. They're back together in love. Mated for life. 😆😆😆

And the reconciliation has just been defrenestrated and we are on rocky ground once more. 😅
