I would’ve appreciated more hard data to support Baddiel’s conclusions. The source for many of his complaints seems to be… the lack of antisemitism discourse he sees on Twitter?

There are plenty of valid points here, but they get buried under some pretty questionable opinions. (Did he really try to argue that that word is just as bad as the n-word?) idk man. If you crave more discourse, go on tumblr I guess.

I used to think that he was so atypical—not the abusive sort at all! Something totally insane must’ve happened that made him so violent toward me. But nope. He was exactly like all the other men in this book. The mundanity of abuse might be the most depressing part of it all. You almost definitely know someone who fits this profile.

If you love the musical like I do, go ahead and read from the beginning until the musical plot line stops. Then skip to book ELEVEN. You will miss nothing except a lot of junk about Napoleon and Pierre thinking, “huh.. war is… bad? I’m probably the first person to realize this.”
But things be heating up with Natasha in book eleven, so I’m reinvigorated.

What if I just never finish this book? I know how it ends, but maybe I can just let them live happily for forever. This is the best book I’ve read in a long time, but I don’t want to keep going.
