Not thrilled with the writing style. It leaves A LOT to be desired. Including me not being all that invested in the characters. But it is like a breath of fresh air I take to erase the torture of Rebecca.

I had to take MONTH long breaks from this book. It is...just awful. But I must reach my December goal - so I have to start cramming it back into my life again. Ugh.

I am only reading this as a “rage read” Christmas present for my dear Friend. This will always be negative stars for me. I have considered burning it multiple times already. The horrors persist- but so do I.

John Green us always a gut punch at some point in his novels. But I feel like this one is gonna be brutal.

I don’t think I would have picked this up personally. But it has such high rating on Amazon I went for it. And it’s not quite the “devour and squee” I’m used to, but, it’s been very cute and different.

Well well well - great start to the book. Pacing is fantastic and exposition is masterfully done. I am interested to see if the typical tropes I’ve noticed will pan out as usual or there will be a fun twist.

I haven’t actually laughed from a book in a long time. I’m really enjoying this one.

Somehow - and I won’t ask how - my friend managed to find a copy of this book. Let the adventure begin.

This books is weirdly haunting. Nothing is happening and yet so much has happened. It feels like it’s stuck in time and yet almost a decade has passed from the beginning. I don’t feel the urge to read it but when I do I’m 100 pages deep before I realize I should stop to eat something. Curious…

Lots of little flags already!! Some of the lines in here have already made my mouth drop open in realization.

This was given to me by one of my best friends. I don’t normally read Nora Robert’s but I thought I’d give it a try.

Finished the first story. I have a feeling I’m really going to like them all.

Now at the first week. Not sure if I’m ready to start the 8 weeks. But all the information provided thus far has me hopeful.

Ooooh it’s starting to weave together finally. This books is just gorgeous. I’m glad I have stuck with it despite it not being my usual genre.

Beautifully written and intriguing with these short snipits each chapter that is quickly moving things along. But oh damn. Not exactly looking forward to living through WWII first person civilian style.

WWII is not really my jam but literally everyone I know likes this book. So here we go.

I’m not exactly sure why I picked this one next and didn’t “go in order”. But it’s nice to have recaps from her other books within this one. I refuse leadership roles so I’m still confused what I was thinking. LOL

I’m loving the writing style. The prose of it is so engaging. And any book that has a map - yaaaaas.

Oh lord. I should have not started reading this book in public. I’m trying not to sob. This is hitting WAY too close to home.

I’m kinda sad because I feel like so much of this books is really important. It’s showing evidence of how to live a better life but all of it gets invalidated because he’s presenting it from a place of incredible privilege. Perhaps the second part will give me more hope.

Jesus Christ! Trigger warning?? No, just throw all that in your face in the first ten pages? Ick. I feel a foreboding of things to come. LOL

This book is kinda wild - in a bad way. He’ll make these seemingly researched and practically explained points and then invalidate it all with wild theories. Water can cure cancer! Raw fruit and vegetables will cure your diabetes! I just…what?!
