Indumugi C is on page 300 of 527 of The Origins of Totalitarianism
There are these two chapters: 6. Race-Thinking before Racism & 7. Race and Bureaucracy could independently prove as amazing readings for Racial Ideology. Part II on Imperialism is easier to read.

This pandemic has truly opened my mind to some great stuff like this book. For now, I will just mention my favorite chapter in the book because not only is it hilarious, but it really puts in place a lot of things about wars, international humanitarian law, and economic interests of nations. So, there is this chapter called "Hugo Grotius, Corporate Lawyer" - not spoiling it for anyone who intends to read.

Woohoo, someone finally finished this book! Political choice, ideology and agency are everywhere across this narrative and in the end what one makes out is the importance of the political in the political economy. I will do a more detailed review soon.

Part three's focus is on the Eurozone crisis. Tooze brilliantly describes the trajectory of events from Greece, Spain, and Italy that led to the big implosion in Europe. Throughout part three, one feels a sense of disappointment in Germany for its poor political choices and an urge to know when will it ever "get it", and get out of its Euroscepticism.

Woop, finished Part 2 of Crashed. Centrally Adam Tooze uses this section to detail the crisis itself, bailouts, liquidity, formation of the G20, Stimulus packages and fixing the financial system by comprehensive legislations such as the Dodd-Frank. I particularly enjoyed the reading the chapter on China and its large stimulus, infrastructural investments and the situation in Eastern Europe transition countries.

I simply cannot believe the brilliance of this book! This a pretty long, detailed and comprehensive book. I have only finished Part I of the book that details the storm that gathered the global financial crisis. So far, the part about the housing market system, the working of the Fed, the various financial tools developed to securitize and pack the riskiest mortgages into tranches, and the Eurozone are my favorites.

Thought I would stop reading in between due to an overhaul in school work. However, on reading a few pages, I couldn't really stop. This is excellently written though sometimes I take necessary shock pauses.

This is by far the best book I've read in the entire quarantine period. I'm not overstating, but it addresses every challenging topic by weaving within the story of a family living in Africa. Every few pages I turn, it addresses a whole other important question and words can't describe the intensity and the pain it can cause to the reader who connects. African authors have a way of writing, simple yet so astounding.
