Reading some mindless fantasy for a change of pace.

I did not expect this book to be so pertinent to today’s political environment.

“Will not the Government itself now decide what is and what is not crime and pump out the life and guts and will of whoever sees fit to displease the Government?”

“Some of us have to fight. There are great traditions of liberty to defend.”

Happy to report that part 2 was more interesting and a much better read compared to part 1.

Now this should be interesting.

And that’s Part 1 done. Ready for book club!!

Got me out here cheering on police

So when does the main character get tortured in the psych ward? I feel like that can’t come soon enough.

And thus, the 4th iteration of Book Club commences!

(I’m putting Foundryside on hold for now.)

I will be coming back to all the Forewords and Introductions, since I don’t want anything influencing my reading the first time around.

Side note, I’m two sentences in and had to look up what “rassoodocks” are. This does not bode well.

So close to being done, 100 pages to go…

I hate to say it but the writing is not very good.

Very tell, not show.

I almost didn’t want to be right…

So HIPAA isn’t a thing, and the police can question you without a lawyer present, at least on these floating cities? And yet they have AI tech that supposedly is going to help humanity combat growing climate disasters? Some things are off here…

The murder-mystery element is interesting, as is the AI capability, but idk…

Haven’t had much time for reading this week but I hope today will change that

I basically read 270 pages in one day. I was feeling it

Starting to develop an understanding of what happened and who these people are.. not fully, but somewhat.

Finishing chapter 3, and then going back to read the quotes at the beginning of the novel, is a great idea.
